Did she swap out the entire candle cup or just put a new one inside? Did it come with more?
Thanks for the clarification. I don't know the full history. This lamp accompanied a Brandt Ranch Oak furniture set in her basement. Waiting for the lava to heat up was one of my fondest childhood memories!
Actually a "Continental," unless you have a box stamped otherwise? At the time of these colored candles, Continentals (sold as a boxed set) had silver metal, Savoys (sold only as a commercial model to institutions) had brass. What confuses me is the brass base cup, like later models-- I wonder if her original base (just a chrome X with four faux legs on the sides) got damaged and she bought a replacement base (which happened to be the newer type) from Lava Corp.?
Wow beautiful lamp!! If you ever consider selling it please let me know
