help lamp stuck with over heated blobs

i didnt  turn my lamps off before I left the room and i guess the dimmer wasn't on enough because i came back and the wax is a hot blobby messy. PLZ save me

when this happens just turn the lamps off.  let them cool off for an hour or so at least.  then just run them normally
