Hello, I have a problem with my lava.
I used distilled water to replenish my lava and what is happening is that
when the water is hot the lava
floats to the top and stays there unmelted.
It's just distilled water, I didn't mix Epson salt or dishwashing detergent.
Why is this happening? Thanks.

Update: can you believe that the lava it is flowing only with destilled water? How this is possible?
I think someone on here mentioned the recipe changed for grandes? My most recent 52oz Schylling lamp revamp worked with distilled water and just a little surf, so it might be making its way down the line. Makes things much easier for those of us trying to salvage a mediocre product!
My lava lamp came from "Easylight" - deutschland. I dont know its age but when i got it it came very foggy. I am very happy to see that it is working only with distilled water.
When starts to get hot the wax goes to the top where solidifies until it melts.
Hi, did you solve this? I have the same problem with one lamp
So you used only Distilled water and a little surf?
Thanks for your help
That happened with me but it was with the gookit I recently purchased. I was told to mix the surfactant in with the distilled water first then put it in the bottle vs the water first then adding the surfactant.
Second thing that was suggested was maybe the bulb was too strong.
Not much help here but wanted to reply.

No. It is flowing ONLY with distilled water.
The only difference is that a portion of wax is always on top
and never leaves when heated.
Then the rest of the wax is flowing normally
