I am not sure honestly. I think it might all be plastic. I do not know. The descriptions I have read have made me stay away. It sounds boring and cheap to say the least. I have never seen one in person and honestly, probably never will. It seems like a very cheap product put out by lava world. Surprise surprise.
Yeah, I think you are right. I had never seen them and thought maybe I had stumbled on a rare lava lamp, Ha!!!!! Oh well! Love your fantasia lamps, so nice!
It is all plastic, but it's pretty heavy. Not sure what makes the sparkles "move," but it's a neat effect. The center part is a prism and the light comes from underneath.
My hubby and I have a competition BBQ team (LavaPigs BBQ), so I got these and a few of the battery powered glitters to set up in our cook area. Looks pretty cool! And, since it's plastic, I don't have to worry about it getting knocked over as I'm rushing to turn in the food!
I have a pink Firefly. Wish I had a clear one. Here's the lowdown:
It's a standard glitterlamp creating the effect: moving silver glitter in clear liquid, moved by convection, with a light bulb.
The base, top and cylinder are thick, heavy plastic - matte metallic silver, with a clear cylinder in prismatic holofoil-like covering with a repeating squared-circle pattern. In essence, they're square secons of tiny and VERY fine fresnel-lens patterns. And yes, the bottle inside, which is rather snugly secured, IS glass.
The effect is of little sparkles twisting and turning all over the surface. The unit is sealed, and the light socked twist-locks into the underside. All around, a neat little lamp, just a bit over 12" tall and about 3 1/4" diameter.
