Lava stuck on inside of globe - Help!

Just got a beer chugging parrot and the globe must have been sitting on it's side forever. There are multiple places were the lava is still stuck on the inside glass after running it about 10 times for 4+ hours. Anyone know how to clear this up?

I have a solution I used on my Grande... Try a butane tourch lighter. Just heat the spots till they are gone, just don't burn yourself!

So a lighter does work and doesn't break anything? I was thinking it would but I was not sure and didn't want to recommend it. Lol. I usually recommend running the lamp under extremely hot water in the effected area. Works but takes time. A lighter would be much faster.

Yep, I did it with my first grande. I prefer the torch lighter, gets hotter withough burning your fingers!

THE RESULTS: Being the trusting sole that I am, I got a Bic Luminere and went outside (just in case)... It took a little while, but the lighter worked great and released about 95% of the stuck lava. There is a little clear liquid spot still but that's fine. This also really cleared up the lamp even though it wasn't cloudy. The whole time I keep thinking about the guy that put his globe on the stove and is now under the grass. ;O... I would have never tried this on my own, and knew one of you wily old veterans would have a trick to fix this. Thank you VixenGypsy!!

Welcome, though I came about it in an odd way... had the lighter laying around from my former Meth days... still comes in handy in my "clean" world!

Does anyone know what causes this? Cheap wax? It happens in my homemade lamps sometimes. I sure wish I knew what ingredient is lacking or there is too much of that is causing it.

Well, I used the lighter, it damaged the glass a little bit. I also put it on the stove in a pot with hot water. That damaged the glass as well. Oh well, Live and learn!

I am gonna have to try this trick.  i shut down a lamp before it fully warmed enough to soften the wax 100% so the wax column that formed was halted in place.  it seems a part of that was touching the glass, now when it runs there is a small smudge of wax where it formerly had been in contact.   lesson learned: do not shut down lamp if there is a wax column formed touching glass.
