Group rules

NO CRITICISM OF BRAND QUALITY ALLOWED!!!

The main focus of this group is to discuss user modified lamps that should never see the light of day and to inform OG members of what to be careful of.

Play nice!

When posting pictures don't be unnecessarily harsh.

If one of your creations happen to show up here, don't get nasty or overly defensive.

If you want to discuss factory original lamps that may not have been the best decision that is fine, but please keep it to a "what were they thinking" not "they suck because" post.

Thanks Heidi for posting the pics without harsh comment, and thank you Crash for responding courteously.  I had seen this on ebay and noticed that the starting bid was half of what you normally set the starting bid at.  I didn't read the description but am glad to hear that you gave full disclosure.  Anyone who has a lamp that is missing the top cap has tried different aesthetic solutions, and I have seen much worse that this.  In the end, like has been said, it is odd, and it adds a little bit of comic relief, which is one of the thoughts behind this group.

The lamp that Heidi mentioned below is my lamp. It happens that I don't have the original cap. I reduced the price to reflect it and mentioned it in the description. Having one of the larger collections on this site, you are bound to have a odd ball every once in awhile. I'm curious, how are we supposed to sell off the odd duck lamps?
