Something Interesting About Me:
Been collecting since May of 2010. I love my six birdies (five parakeets and one cockatiel), photography, gardening and crochet. I told myself I wouldn't get more than ten. :) During the first 10 days, I got five, so we'll see how this goes. :) Update 10/08/10: I'm at 21 lamps. Clearly, I have a problem. Update 06/10/11: At about 35 lamps now, so yes, I do indeed have a little addiction! 08/04/11: You know, I'm going to quit counting...
Where I Live:
Iowa Quad Cities
My First Lava Lamp was:
I remember the first lava lamp I ever saw was at my great-grandparents' house in Colorado in the mid-80s. I thought it was so cool! I do not remember the color combo though.

Got one as a teenager (early 90s yellow/red), then attempted to sell it at garage sale in 2003 and my landlord shattered it. I remember really liking it, so I don't know what possessed me to sell it. Now, seven or so years later, I've become interested in them again.
My Collection Includes this many Lava Lamps:
70 or so lava, glitter, and related ;)
My Favorite Lava Lamp is:

"I just saw the glitter version of this lamp on eBay France and they noted it was German. The glitter version is very cool, too! Great find. "

"I think most of us are not interested. The last time many of us got interested in anything Lava Lite did was when either 1) they said they were going to bring production back to the US (never happened) and 2) the Heritage series grandes. "

Erin replied to Peter Panussi's discussion Why are there so often posts missing in the older archived threads?
"It can happen for a lot of reasons, like Modulo said. Most likely the user left and when they deleted their account, their comments and photos were deleted, too. Or, is the user was banned, same thing. So yes, sometimes you'll see a ghost…"

Thanks Erin!  I think I got them mostly from here but realized that was before the library was started.  So really I can't take any credit for them but am happy that I have them to share.
