Do I have what I hope I have? Globe 01 - Clear/White

I got this on eBay last week. I saw it and though "oh, another faded 03", but then looked at the pics and noticed that it didn't have any cap code. Then I came back on OG to see what I could find out…Continue

On-going list of quality issues with Lava Lite lamps (post-2003 lamps)

I've slowed down in buying lamps over the years, but I still get tempted when I see Lava Lite put out new lamps. And nearly all of the time, I'm disappointed. I wanted to consolidate my…Continue

Something Interesting About Me:
Been collecting since May of 2010. I love my five birdies (four parakeets and one cockatiel), photography, gardening and crochet. I told myself I wouldn't get more than ten. :) During the first 10 days, I got five, so we'll see how this goes. :) Update 10/08/10: I'm at 21 lamps. Clearly, I have a problem. Update 06/10/11: At about 35 lamps now, so yes, I do indeed have a little addiction! 08/04/11: You know, I'm going to quit counting...
Where I Live:
Iowa Quad Cities
My First Lava Lamp was:
I remember the first lava lamp I ever saw was at my great-grandparents' house in Colorado in the mid-80s. I thought it was so cool! I do not remember the color combo though.

Got one as a teenager (early 90s yellow/red), then attempted to sell it at garage sale in 2003 and my landlord shattered it. I remember really liking it, so I don't know what possessed me to sell it. Now, seven or so years later, I've become interested in them again.
My Collection Includes this many Lava Lamps:
70 or so lava, glitter, and related ;)
My Favorite Lava Lamp is:
The Carlisle!

"They are super cool and hard to come by. You should have no trouble selling it. It would be better to sell locally, but you won't find the same interest/market locally."

Erin replied to HughesWaveMachines's discussion Wave Machine Guy Trying to Restore Vinatge Lava Lamps. (Help!)
"I have a feeling those run. They look to be in OK shape. Getting the original wax/liquid moving is going to be a safer bet than restoring. Magma tower has kits, but I (and several other members) had issues with wax sticking around the base. So much…"

Erin replied to teltras's discussion Help Identify this lava lamp
"The Chinese currently make the lamps for Lava Lite (Schyllig or however you spell it) and I believe some parts for Mathmos. And yes, they are garbage."

Thanks Erin!  I think I got them mostly from here but realized that was before the library was started.  So really I can't take any credit for them but am happy that I have them to share.
