PS This is a 60W globe in a century model designed for 40W globes. Will this affect my lamp negatively? Or should I only have it operating for a limited time?

Matt, most lamps should have 8 to 10 hours running time max, to preserve integrity of the wax.  Exceptions, could be Lunar, Giant, Grande, Humongo or Colossus, which have longer start up and run times.   A dimmer can also be utilized to get optimal temperature and preserve longevity of wax. Hope this helps, nice vid btw.

Thanks. I've found that over time the higher heat causes bubbles to develop in the wax which doesn't look that great. Trying to find an old 40W bulb again, and if that fails ill install a dimmer switch
