Oozing Goo - The Lava Lamp Syndicate

The lava website is showing an 80 oz lava lamp size. Anyone seen one of these or have any info?

It is the double play lamp. Nevermind, I am an idiot who didn't realize they are that large. I guess I have to buy one now? Anyone have one? Is it worth the cash?

From what it looks like, I wouldn't expect much. It's a small lava tube inside of a larger glitter globe. There just doesn't seem to be much room for a decent flow. Also, that means that it would take a long time for the wax to melt completely. I've seen videos and it looks cool at first, however, I couldn't stand it for more than five minutes.

Jeff,

It looks like they recently added another one of these 80 ounce lamps without the glitter. This one is called the "Royale." I might look into purchasing one of these myself. Here's a screenshot of it:

Oh my!

I've seen that Royale lamp, too. I don't get it. Why is the cap so big? Why only one color combo?

It looks kind of nice, but I would really prefer seeing the size and shape in person before plunking down the $70 on one. I'm almost certain that Spencer's doesn't carry these right now. If anyone has one of these and can post a short video on YouTube to show how well it flows and a size comparison, that would be much appreciated.

Someone here has that "Double Play" lamp and posted a video.

Here it is: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zXDOSEZt83c&feature=youtu.be

Geez, more crap from lifespan.  They just do not get it. Yeah, lets put out crap and they "the public" will buy it any way.  Will be so glad to see them go out of business so that Mathmos can move into the US marketplace.

The incredibly slow glitter in the Double Play video looks cool.

I kind of like it too, Perry.  Glitter looks good.  I wish the lava was a bit more interesting, though.

The inner tube isn't wide enough for the lava to dance; that's the problem with most tall/custom lavas, imho...

Royal....LOL

Reminds me of the Quintinen Tarinto Pulp Fiction movie

"What do they call a 1/4 pounder in France?"

A Royal
