Oozing Goo - The Lava Lamp Syndicate

Can anyone beat this?

When I purchased a brand new Mathmos copper Astro last year I had a handful of runs before, dissapointingly, the bulb went.

More recently I experienced the worst performing bulb ever. 15 minutes from its debut switch-on supposedly to illuminate my brand new Mathmos Astro metallic. Has anyone else had this sheer bad showing from their lava lamp's crucial light/heat source, the humble light bulb?

15 (Fifteen) MINUTES!!!!!!!

Not happy about this at all.

I have one Lava Lamp base that "eats" bulbs.  They might last a week, a day, or maybe a couple of months.  It's aggravating for sure!

bulbs dont last like they used to, ive bought lots of them so called halogen bulb ( inside a golf ball type bulb ) saying last 2 years, its more like 2 months :-( wouldnt mind but 4 quid for 2 bulbs is bit steep

Yes true, they're nor cheap
