Found oozinggoo.com when I was looking for ways to repair the Grande I picked up at CostCo a few years ago. It's one of the Chinese made ones that has gone extremely cloudy and ceased to flow (going to try replacing the fluid one of these weekends).
It was here that I found out about really big Lava lamps. I was bowled over by videos of the Colossus lamps and really want to see if I could get one, I couldn't find them available anywhere so I wrote LavaLite. I wanted to let this group know what I got this from Lava Lite today:
We have a special promo on the Colossus for serious buyers. This will be the last time the Colossus will be seen.
Please see attached promo sheet with pricing included.
If you are interested please contact on my direct line at 630-496-6663.
Best regards,

Sadly these prices are outside of my discretionary funds, even though they include shipping. I post it in hopes that someone here may be interested.

Im wondering who is going to goo kit a colossus!
The globe box that must remain upright is about 17" square and 37" high, the other box with the base and cap is about half that size and will fit on a seat in a car. You may be able to seat belt it into the passenger seat. If not then, the passenger seat came out of my old VW GTI pretty easy. Perhaps you could go that with your Sentra.
Good luck!

so you lucky folks who already have received your colossus lamps, how do they arrive packaged? I live not far from Elmhurst, Il where these are shipping from and I'm trying to save money and just pick my lamp up.
Would the lamp fit in the back seat of my nissan sentra, maybe glass separate from base? If not I might rent a small moving van for the trip.
Could some one be nice enough to snap a few pics of how the lamp is packaged when it arrives and/or when unpacked but before setting it up?
I think the Colossus lava lite lamp is very nice, but way too big. I know I don't have room or $$$ for one. Glad you all are enjoying them!!! Anyone tempted to buy a couple??? :D
Just curious...like what?

but starting up too early can do bad wax things.
I've got all the Magma goo, just trying to figure the best way to get the existing goo out. Heat it up and dump it? Any ideas?

Susan Michaels asked if I would post her request here...
I would appreciate once your lamp is up and running, feedback and pictures, so we may post on our Facebook page with your permission. Please send to:
What is the general consensus on how best to manhandle the globe? DH bear hugged it, which worked for the short distance to the base, but would have been much easier if we felt safe lifting it by the neck. Since I know we're going to have to lift it at least once more to add the table when the parts arrive (being optimistic here) just looking for better ideas on handling it.
Also, had to use the suction cup light changer thing I got for my ceiling lights to put the light in the base, wow is that a narrow opening.
i would take some of the wax from you if you are going to dump it!

Just ordered my yellow lava/purple liquid silver base and table. Picking it up next Friday directly from LL in Elmhurst
crack your globe. i thought i read somewhere (can't find it) that it can mess with your wax quality. but I don't think it was permanent

get two people, one on top, one and bottom. get a grippy shelf liner or something. i don't feel comfortable handling it only by the neck, and holding the bottom only is great until you need to avoid smashing your fingers in the base.

Just got off the phone with Susan. She laughed when she picked up and said I must be psychic cause she was in the middle of emailing me with a tracking number.
I'm guessing she emailed you too Louis, with your info. If you need to call the freight company for any reason, here's the Custom Co. phone number: 708-338-8888 or website for tracking: http://www.customco.com/
