Oozing Goo - The Lava Lamp Syndicate

I just received my new Jet today and I have another Astro on the way... I know I am going to need to buy a few more converters but my question is about the Jet. A year or so back I bought two Jets from an American seller on eBay and he sent two "converters" in the package. I plugged them in and have never had an issue. Well I was doing some research the last couple days trying to find something similar to what I was using on my other two Jets and I believe I have come to the realization that the "converters" aren't wattage converters. Is this possible? Have I just gotten lucky that nothing has happened?

There is a sticker on the converters that says "for export only travel adapter"

I have posted a couple pictures of the converters I have been using on the two Jets... Let me know what you guys think.

Oh yes, and I appreciate everyone's knowledge and input!

Thanks goo heads! Hope you are all doing well!

Now that your seriously collecting EU lava lamps, its time to step up

Buy a large unit and run 1/2 @220V power strips off of it.

make sure that when you add up all of the wattages of the lamps you want to run (and future expansion), add 20%+ for electrical tolerances. and heat resistance

Hang the flag right side up please.

Thanks for getting back to me Claude! I actually have a couple 500 watt units. But that is great info about adding 20%. I was just sorta curious about the adapter I posted about because I had my Jets set up at a different spot and I really only needed an adapter for the one Jet, so I figured I'd get something small and similar.

But I'll probably look into the big unit for my other lamps.

I really appreciate you getting back to me.

I actually did have one more question for you though Claude, about the color changing grande. I think I may have drilled the hole for the dimmer switch a bit low because the nob constantly falls off when I adjust the heat. I don't know much about epoxy but do you think I could put a little on the nob and it will stick?

I appreciate your knowledge and hope you are doing well!
