Hi,

you can use a time to program a lamp (switch on/off), so it can be usefull to remotely have your lamp switch on in the afternoon while you're out, so you'll get your lamp at full flow when arriving home.

Dimmer is used on big lamps, so you go full power at the start, then when the wax is melted you can lower the intensity.

Hope that helps.

Timers are used so that they can be set to come on at a certin time - i.e. to come on 2/3 hours before coming home from work so they are flowing when you get home for timers check out this - timers - amazon timers can be ever digital or analog.

Dimmers are often used on bigger lamps such as grandes, 52oz's, lunars and are needed for goo kit lamps as they over heat if not used - dimmers can be fitted in the cable or as plug in ones dimmers - socket dimmers - inline

Another cool thing to have is remote control items so that you can remotly switch the lamps on / off. http://www.byebyestandby.com/products.php

Except from the inline dimmer thies items plug into the socket then the lamp plugs into that - i.e. they got between the wall socket and the lamp plug.

Some lamps have dimmers allready fitted - icon series lamps have this, lunars, collouss, magma tower custom bulds, Mathmos monstor etc.
