Think your going to need a bigger fireplace! :P
Thanks all - this is the only place that I can find others that share my affinity for these lamps :-)
I won't get the other 2 until my FIL travels to Florida in February but will post some pics when I get them.
The big lamps struggle to flow with Michigan winter upon me so I made reflectors out of aluminum and that seems to be doing the trick! Still, many of the lamps needed to be cycled for weeks to get them moving again - especially the ones that appear to be in almost new condition.
I've been trying to buy at least one of the older giants but they are all gone on the second hand sites... I guess this is where they are ending up lol
Excuse my ignorance, but what is the size difference of the giant versus the grande?
They are the same size.
The difference is that the Giants were made in the USA (Chicago) and the newer Grandes are made in China
I.E. Better glass, older/better lava formula
