I hear that the goo kits start flowing faster and require less heat. Can anyone elaborate? How long does a normal Grande take before it flows VS a goo-kit Grande? Is it noticably faster? Also, if you use a dimmer, what % of power do you need to keep it flowing?

Goo Kits are definitely faster, how much faster really depends on the ambient temp and heat source. It should flow at 115 to 125 degrees.
Just a ballpark answer would do, would you say they start flowing an hour earlier? Two hours earlier? Do you use 100w bulbs? Do you dim them once it starts flowing? etc etc
I have 3 grandes with original contents that I run regularly. They are all together so they are in the same ambient conditions. One starts flowing at about 2 hours, one at about 2.5 to 3 hour, and one at about 4 to 5 hours.
So that's a pretty big ballpark,
