Oozing Goo - The Lava Lamp Syndicate

Hi everyone,

I recently picked up an awesome retro Carramar lava lamp at a market, but it didn’t come with a bulb. I'm not sure which one to use, and I definitely don't want to damage it by using the wrong kind.

It’s requires a 30 watt E27, and it needs to be flat/domed to fit the lamp above it.
I tried going to Bunnings, but they only had round globes which the bulb was too large to house the glass lamp above. I’ve attached some pictures to help identify it.

Also, I'm based in Australia, so any recommendations on where to find the right bulb locally or online would be really helpful!

Thanks in advance!
Ant

I don't have a Carramar (nice find!) but they were made in Aus, weren't they? and so use the same voltage as here in the UK...

and I haven't seen a 30w bulb but you could try E27 either golfball or pygmy ("appliance") bulbs- you can get these in 25w

You could also try a 40w golfball with an inline dimmer

Good luck!

Andy Ross - great advice.

Thank you for all your help - Greatly appreciated. I will upload a photo once the bulb arrives :)
