Proper Disposal of the wax/liquid-filled glass housing....

My lamp finally "died"...I have replaced it, but was wondering how to properly (green) dispose of the glass tank part.

Thank you in advance for your suggestions!

All I know was that it was a "Peace Motion" lamp. I've been on this site for over an hour now! I had no idea there was so much info about lavas...the ones with the clear water are so beautiful! Do you think anyone would want to salvage my globe and overhaul it?
If they don't, you can open it up and dump the contents in a bag of cat litter. This is what they tell us to do with unused paint and such. It will absorb the fluid and then you can dispose of it at any location that accepts paint stuff.
Thank you for the advice!
Thanks! I won't pour out the wax, but is the liquid safe to go down the sink?
I usually wait until its dark out then I go over to my neighbors and put it in their garbage, after that I call the EPA and wait for them to arrive, its fun watching the neighbor trying to explain.....JUST KIDDING. You can always dump the water down the drain and heat the globe on the base to melt the wax and then pour that into a disposable container, but it should be safe to throw the whole thing out in the garbage.
