Yep, there's a silver Starship Grande, minus cap, in my local Goodwill, which is Renton, WA. They want $70 for it. Globe is cloudy yellow/blue. Are these indeed hyper-rare? Does anybody want it? I could pick it up for someone. Photos linked below.
If I did get it, I'd have to go Sunday, hopefully it'd still be there.

I'm a mod and can answer this. We cannot endorse or officially recognize any auctions on this site because we have no way to ensure that the auction is held in a safe and secure way through this site. I'd highly suggest you use Ebay for this. They have options to donate the proceeds to charity so the buyer can know for certain where their money goes.

Hi all - I'm so sorry for the delay in getting back to this. I didn't know exactly what I was going to do with it, since it's such a unique piece.
I have not gone through the forum rules yet, to see if this is allowed; but I want to do a bidding process, with 100% of that money going to a Covid relief charity.
Any chance there is a moderator, that can give me the green light to do an auction on here? Still working on the particulars. I'll find a good charity, with a contribution page. After the bidding, the winner will donate that amount, and send me the digital receipt, and then I'll ship it out.
Thoughts?
Shoot I like the idea. Or if nothing else post the fleabay link on here. Worst case scenario.

Thank you Autumn. I figured as much. I'll get this listed on Ebay as a donation in the next week or two.
I'll leave a note here with a link to the auction when it goes up to make sure everyone is aware.
cheers!
On the cap -
I was really disappointed, as the staff of the Good Will said it came in with the cap, and after 2 trips, and over 8 hours in the store looking EVERYWHERE, we decided they must have accidentally thrown it away. :(
I got the dimensions from I think from Autumn when I took possession of this lamp originally, and actually worked with a fabricator to try to make one, but was unsuccessful.
Ultimately, I thought it still looked cool with just a grande top, but a real starship cap would look so much better. Hopefully the next custodian of this lamp will fare better than I did in that regard.
A good machinist could do it. But you would need to turn a wood or durion plug to be able to turn it over, or, AutoCAD and CNC one. The only obstacle as in all of life, is money and determination lol
I wonder if Marcel could fabricate a new cap for it with the proper specs?
Any local machine shop could cut one on a lathe
They are made of spun aluminum. So it isn’t really a machinist and it is do-able.
Been looking on eBay. Haven't seen anything yet. Hope to see it up.
Any information on when it's going on eBay?
