I've had Mathmos bottles sit in a dark cupboard for several years and they still flow like they did on day one.  Good old days :-)

I read that statement from somewhere, but I don't remember where. If it is true, then a lamp that has been sitting dormant and literally hasn't been started since 2000, may not start flowing and run at all. I don't know if I would pay that much for a lamp that may not flow.
