why yes tiff these lamps are quite hot :P actually they are very f'n hot lol they have to be because of the tinfoil that blocks the light also blocks the heat so I had to bump up the bulb wattage on these.

Thanks! using tinfoil does get pretty hot though. I had to up the wattage on the bulbs in order to get it these to flow since the tinfoil deflects a lot of heat and I would not recommend using tinfoil on any plastic style bases.
