Oozing Goo - The Lava Lamp Syndicate

Picked this up at the car boot this morning for £1.50 (i’m not joking) - It had the remains of cold liquid wax inside and was covered in blue and white paint.
I will post again when I have refilled it and hopefully it will be running properly!

The wax in the lamp didn’t smell good, I expect someone had tried ‘improving’ the flow once the wax was tired out.

I also like the smell of the Crestworth lamp formula !

Or the Mighty Pickle!

Even if it isn't a Crestworth, it's extremely rare....which makes it a pretty big dill.

sorry :P

May I start the ball rolling please?
How about "Nimrod" - the Mighty Hunter?

(btw, could it be Hunter's version of the Crestworth Princess?)

Hi everyone

Thanks for your comments!

I have two Hunter lamps and they have the same type of lamp holder and earth tag arrangement as my new find. The bulb retainer is not a great bit of design but it works!

The reason I thought it might be Crestworth was the lid which reminds me of the early Astro, and my Hunters do not have the black plastic trim around the base. I wish I had a mistrolite so I could compare the base.

On reflection I would agree it is a Hunter lamp - now what do we call It?

What a find!

The cable on your looks very fresh/minty white!

Are they all the same, or does anyone's have an inline switch?

when i emptied mine the wax was sloppy soft but not runny like liquid and had the typical crestworth paraffin smell mmmm love it :-)  now know of 4 of these lamps , would like to got a photo of the other bulb holder that was different in the recent ebay sale

This sounds odd but how did the contents smell when you poured them out? The oil mix used in the Hunters has quite a pungent sickly smell to it, not like the paraffin smell of Crestworth lamps.
