These are the same two lamps I posted before, but this was taken with flash. The globes yellow out, but you can see the bases a lot better.

I had a lamp up on ebay, just as an experiment. I've been a member there for years, but had never sold anything. This guy bought one with a BIN of $50, an hour after it listed. He paid immediately. A few minutes later, encouraged by that sale, I posted another custom job. After he sees this, he writes me asking for his money back. He says (in broken, almost indecipherable language, with no punctuation, and in all caps) that what I'm doing "is nothing special", and that he only collects rare lamps. The very first word in my item title was "Custom", but anyway.
All I could do was say that I'm sorry we couldn't make a deal, and made a joke about "so much for my very first ebay sale lol" bla bla.
Then he writes me back saying that he wants the first lamp after all, and then he writes back saying that he wants both lamps that I currently had listed. I make the auction entries, and pack up the lamps. THEN he says that, instead of the blue/green lamp, he wants a black/green. :-/ I told him that the auction was for a MODDED lamp, not a commission job, but after some discussion, I finally relented. Again unpacked his lamps.
Again, packed his lamps.
THEN he says that what he wants is TWO metallic black/yellow glitters.
At this point I could have strangled him. But I told him that he absolutely HAD to be sure this time, because I wasn't changing it again. He said he was sure, so I went ahead and unpacked/packed his lamps a THIRD time and shipped them to him.
He says he loves them. Yay.
So then he says he wants the green one after all, PLUS 2 gold - silver glitters, plus one black- red glitter. I make him the 2 gold - silver glitters, and he disappears.
I was totally willing to give him the benefit of the doubt, until I saw his ebay activity...he's still leaving feedback, paying for things, etc.
awww...what a jerk!
Thank you! Too bad the guy I made them for totally ditched. :( He actually ordered FOUR lamps...thank god I only did 2 of them, and thank god I didn't have to tint the globes. I can strip that paint off...I just hate it that I have to! That damn paint was expensive. :(
I'm totally done with ebay. I hate it. I'm just going to sell here, where people are nice and polite and honorable and can spell and punctuate.
...Ahem...I feel better now. LOL!
