Replacement purple/yellow from LL

This one is also cloudy, not nearly as bad as the one from Lamps plus but I still dont have any hope that it will clear on its own.. Should I keep and be "happy" or contact Susan again?

Comment by Rodrigo on September 18, 2013 at 5:43pm: About 7.5 hours into its cycle and its flowing beautifully! I hope the flow remains the same because for its first run its AWESOME. The cloudiness isnt bad, i can see the wax everywhere but its not crystal clear, hopefully it will clear with time, at least i can turn this one on and watch it so hopefully it gets better.

Comment by Rodrigo on September 18, 2013 at 11:47am: Jeff, I already have a cheap Chinese pump filter but I didn't want to have to filter something I just bought brand new and paid nearly 100 bucks for so I tried for a replacement, plus the top cap also came smashed because it was shipped upside down.

I will keep this one and tell Susan it arrived a bit cloudy but I will cycle it and wait a few weeks, after all now I have two grandes so I'm pretty happy overall. This grande also isn't nearly as bad as the other one, I can actually see the top of the wax and its starting to flow now and I can see through the globe, the other one I couldn't even see blobs up agains the glass...

I think the main cause of clouding globes IS shipping temperature along with vibrations/shaking/upside down shipping. I think if a lamp is shipped during winter and never sees hot or even warm temperatures during travel it would endure much more shaking and vibrations without clouding up, just because its cold. But when it's warm out, like high 80s, any shaking will break up the already warm wax..

Comment by Loren on September 18, 2013 at 11:18am: I have, twice now, had cloudy Chinese lamps clear after cycling them. You just have to be patient, which is not easy for me. :p

I'm not sure why some lamps arrive crystal clear, and some arrive cloudy, but I think it has something to do with the temp during shipping.
