Oozing Goo - The Lava Lamp Syndicate

I think this is an Enchantress Planter model (8200-N) from the 70's. I bought it on Craigslist for $10 last week. It flows well, but the lava seems to want to seperate. Lots of little bubbles in the water and the lava has a mottled appearance until it is good and hot. I had to repaint the cap with Krylon 18k Gold spray paint (a great match!).

Astro is correct about the color, and you're correct about the model, Enchantress Planter 8200-N. The early "Elegant" type Enchantresses carried a whole line of vivid, oddball colors with misty liquid, but the later standard Enchantresses carried only the three 70s color...and one exclusive, lime in green. And lime in green is rarer than any other in this model! Your recolor of the liquid is almost perfect, and the cap looks great too. Hold onto that awesome lamp. The flower ring is also original. I'm saving this photo as a prime example of this model/color.

Thanks. Yeah, I think the full title of the paint was Krylon Premium 18kt Gold Plate. It's a smaller-than-normal aerosol spray can. It really is the nicest gold paint I've ever seen, and a perfect match for the base. I found it at a Michael's craft store. Krylon never disappoints me. Good luck!

Nice Lamp Sean! I have an identicle Green on Green Enchantress also. The lava sure flow nice in mine too! Even my Enchantress' flowers are identicle to your Enchantress. Thanks for the tip about the paint match up....I have a Century that needs a bit of love to the cap too! Delighted to know.

Thanks! Actually, the liquid was quite faded (like the flowers) so I added a single drop of green food coloring. I love the lamp, just wish the lava would straighten out. It is a bit frothy too.
