Have you tried trimming the wick on that one a little bit, to make the flame shorter?

I've noticed the one in the middle overheats quicker. Doesn't seem like it should, but it does.

Only thing though, is how awesomely the 2 generations compliment each-other...which is obvious in this picture! I love these things!
