"Think you need to join the two waxes together. Drain most of that water out until the top is in contact with the spring and the remainder of the wax. With the globe pretty much empty with just a little bit of water over the big clump of…"
"If it is floating at the top, why are you adding epsom salt to it? You do know that adding the salt makes the water heavier and thus causes the wax to rise right? Sounds like you have too much salt in it. Hope this helps."

"That's the spirit bro! Don't buy this china crap they trying to push on us. Just go pre 2003 or like you said Crestworth or Mathmos Lamps is the way to go. Good luck with the search! The struggle is real!"
Hi Mr MaGoo-Sorry so long to respond, and thanks for your sweet message! How's stuff? I'm fine, jus kinda lost my shine for the lamps after my $$$ ran out. LOL Still waitin' for my ship to come in...heh!
the metallics I had were original mathmos metallics, nothing selfmade. But there seem to be several ways to create metallic wax. One is the sharpie way Dr What came up with (as far as I know) and you just put the contents of a few silver sharpie markers into the wax and the other way would be adding a small amount of the liquid metal motion lamp wax into your wax. They are china brand and they are easily available in the us. They have so much metallic stuff in them that a small amount is enough to end up with the nice metallic surface the mathmos ones had. If you have any questions about mixing, pouring, transfering etc. feel free to ask.
