Where to buy?

I would like to purchase four lava lamps for Christmas presents for friends. With my recent experience with Lava Lite, and the information found here (Chinese manufacturing, poor quality control, etc.) I'm hesitant to place the order with Lava Lite.

Where should I purchase these lamps? And how will I know that I'm going to get "good" lamps?

What kind of lamps are you looking for and on what budget, maybe someone will have lamps they can provide which are of a known quality and within your budget.

All or most of us have some really nice lamps, pre china, that look nice and run well for sale. As Weebs said, what are you looking for? Regards... :O

Lots of people here are selling lamps. Check the sale threads. Myself included. I have several USA made midnights, never used and boxed. Would make great gifts.

Thanks for the great replies. I would like to spend $30-$40 each. The 16.3" Lava Lites are $28.99 which I thought was a perfect price, but the lamps might be less than perfect. As for what type, just your average-shaped lava lamp or any other interesting shapes would be fine. I don't really have any set thoughts on this.
