Oozing Goo - The Lava Lamp Syndicate

I made an agreement with the seller that if she gave me high resolution photos of her lamp I would post an ad here, so dont ask me questions about the lamp, ask the seller. The lamp definitely looks vintage to me, but I am not sure who made it. Regardless it will end up in the Lava Library as soon as I determine who made it. For now it has a temporary page.

That thing is neat! Never seen anything like it before.
This would look sweet next to my unicorn.
Wow and double wow!
No one got it. The auction ended with no bids whatsoever.
...it didn't sell!? I hope they relist it. Someone needs this!
The opening bid was $89 and without much known about this lamp, I think everyone was afraid to bid.
In my opinion, it is Taiwanese, but well-made, and yes, someone replaced the bottom with wood and a porcelain socket. It's possible that it used to be plastic, and melted from overheating. If the seller would consider more like $60, I'd call it a great buy.
...awww, drat... now I wish I could afford this thing. I really love it. Congrats to whoever gets it. I can pretty much guarantee you'll be hard-pressed to find another like it.
i think a few years ago there was an actual lava lamp that housed little small tetra fish, can anyone remember this
I tell myself stick to the budget while prowsing my various spots and sitesbut then pops up something so intriguing and my heart beast a bit faster and the lamp addict inside yells BUY IT< nah..i will resist ... but really  I cant wait to see who does end up with it..
Pretty sure this isn't '50s. Definitely more 70's in design. A nice lamp.

It's late 70s to mid 80s, age-wise. And no, no real lava lamp has had fish in it, but post-China Lava did once do a Midnight-looking lamp containing plastic fish moving in bubbling water, with an air pump in the base.
