QUESTIONS ABOUT AN UNUSUAL LAVA LAMP/DESK LAMP

Hello everyone,

 

I'm new to the board and I have a question for you incredibly knowledgeable lava lamp collectors out there.  

 

I acquired a rather unusual lava lamp/desk lamp from someone and I want to know if anyone out there knows anything in addition to what I was told; or if indeed what I was told is accurate/factual. 

 

I was told this lamp is a 40th anniversary collector's edition.  It has "voice control" and you can select just the lava lamp OR have the lava lamp AND the desk lamp on simultaneously.

 

I've attached a photo and I just listed it on eBay.

You have 13 more of these desk lamps? Rare doesnt really mean valuable, you may or may not sell a couple at $50, but I dont see you selling 13 for that much. Lavaphones are rare, but they dont sell for much. But then again...they look dumb as hell.

Christy, I was the one who replied to your Enchantress auction, and to whom you mailed photos of this after asking if I could ID it.

 

I don't honestly know whether these were specifically for the 40th Anniversary. People tend to either like or hate this model. I'd suggest starting these at $25 and see where they go. They're uncommon, not nearly rare but definitely uncommon, but they're also not a lamp I've sever heard of a collector here lusting after.

 You should have no issue finding homes for these they are pretty rare. These were made by lava lite and I believe another company called Polyflame. If you google polyflame desk lava lamp you'll see pics of these popping up. Here is a picture of the box. I really love these! although my voice command doesn't work too well. Not sure if this was a common issue or not.
