Hi,
I'm a new member here and enjoy this website a lot.
A couple of weeks ago I went to a yard sale (here in Knoxville, TN) and stumbled across the Lava Lamp pictured. It was priced at a dollar and seemed to be in good condition so I bought it. I was delighted when the goo began to flow and have basically gone bananas over these things!
I was wondering if anyone can give me information on this unit, such as the year/years it was sold, the MFR, and what this style is "called", if anything.
Many thanks in advance!
Harry

Well, I'm sure someone will come in here soon and identify it. I can tell you it's NOT a Lava Lite brand lamp. Also not Mathmos. I believe they were China-made lamps. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
Welcome to the Goo! I see that you may have started a lava lamp fascination. :D
Erins right its defuntly a china lamp and it was made and sold in the 90's and was branded as a 'retro rocket lamp' (I think) it seams the same or verry simmler to my first couple of lamps.
The flow on them isent bad and TBH for a doller I think you got yourself a bargin
Welcome to the forum and to the world of lava :))
Thanks Erin and Tim.
Yes, the flow on this unit is spectacular, as are the colors, though they look a bit faded. I think the original colors were purple liquid and orange goo. Still, I stared at it way too many hours! Hence my facination with these addictive things, lol...
Thanks for the info Jonas. The unit is rather top-heavy. Still, for a buck I'm not complaining, lol...
Great info as always Jonas.
This is quite an attracive 'China' lamp and at just one Buck, an absolute bargain as it flows pretty well. AC
