Hi all, just acquired a Crestworth Nordic and the bottle seems loose in the base. Also seems that the bottle rocks slightly on the bulb and this may be lifting the bottle up. Is this the norm for these lamps, original orange glitterlite bottle?

this isnt normal or i should say originaly the bottles would have sat correctly in the base, over the years the bulbs have gotten slightly larger and thats the problem, idealy if you search for the golf ball shape in the white glass finish that will solve the problem, there slighty shorter in height. or if your using a glitterlite bottle get a bulb called a pigmy there smaller still and are in 40watt or 25watt small baynet size
Hi Waggs and Johnny, thanks for the replies. The bulb is a white glass one but am picking up some Philips ones from the post office tomorrow that I brought off ebay for my other Crestworth lamps so these may be slightly smaller that the one fitted. I searched ebay for the pygmy bulbs but they only seem to come in 25w as the highest wattage. Do you think these would be hot enough for the Glitterlite bottle?
the pigmy bulbs will work the glitterlite fine, it wont get so hot so movement will be slower but i doubt youd be disapointed, i know a friend who uses em and has the bottle going for hours as it dont get so hot
Hi Johnny, the Philips bulb has done the trick the bottle sits better in the base, the other bulb has Hungary C9 on it. I will see how it runs with this bulb but keep the pygmy bulbs in mind. My first Nordic - it has a crease in the side of the cap and the slightest of scratches on the base but polished up nice. The black plastic bottle cap seems to be glued in to the copper cap and it has a blue felted base. The white threaded cable connector that fits in the base is slightly loose but is as tight as it will go. I think that it must be loose on the cable inside the base but no way of getting to it. The bottle is the amber/orange one, I have seen the recent photos you have added and absolutely love the Princess. Didn't realise any collector had one of these but have only been collecting for a few years my self.
you can get to the bulb fitting quite easy, the bottom with the felt on will pop off if you use a tiny screw driver and lever it upwards, then thread the flex through the flex grip which is fitted on the cone base part , take ya bulb out then if u have a small size hand the bulb fitting ( bakerlight part )unscrews (anti clockwise ) when thats moved the bulb fitting will pop out with the flex, then its a case for feeding the flex via the base and up through the cylinder part till you have a enough out to be able to check the 2 wires (brown/blue ) to the 2 pins in the fitting, oh and you need to remove the earth of the cone part via the screw
