Colossus Lamps available!

Found oozinggoo.com when I was looking for ways to repair the Grande I picked up at CostCo a few years ago.  It's one of the Chinese made ones that has gone extremely cloudy and ceased to flow (going to try replacing the fluid one of these weekends). 

It was here that I found out about really big Lava lamps.  I was bowled over by videos of the  Colossus lamps and really want to see if I could get one, I couldn't find them available anywhere so I wrote LavaLite.  I wanted to let this group know what I got this from Lava Lite today:

Thanks Loren, good to know who to chase down for pics of the color combos..  So I also have your combo Yellow/Blue with marble currently running and my old modified Humongo with yellow/purple with a painted base (used to be wood i think).  I can only run one at a time, but look forward to mixing up the combos. 

Wonder if we should include who has tables?  I have a table for each (I convinced my wife it's furniture now).

Jethro, did you get that blue/yellow recently, or was that one bought in 2006?

I just discovered about 12 places online that were selling these same colossuses back in 2005-2006. They were selling for about 1100-1300 each!

I know even that is nothing compared to what the humungo sold for, but I still feel kinda like we got really good deals on these, especially when you consider that shipping was included. I hope that everyone here that wants one can get one eventually.

yes the Yellow/blue is recent, the 2006 model was yellow/purple but is now more like an orange.  When the Humongo first came out I think it was $3500!

You are right, the Colossus deals are pretty good...only a couple n eBay in the last few years and last one sold for something like 1500 w/o shipping.  I saw a few going for $500-600 plus shipping at the end of '09.  AND many of us got the colors/bases/tables we wanted.  I was even trying to build one myself...or buy a Magma Tower or Mathmos Monster.  It's really a dream come true for many of us
