I'm on cycle 3 or 4, Rodrigo, and thought it was starting to improve, but then it started that same old stuck wax at the top and down the side business again. This one will probably have to go back, although I'll give it a few days.

Hmmm :/ thats quite dissapointing. Ill give mine a few days as well even though the dent on the base has earned it a return trip.. If worst comes to worst ill have to return it and order a green grande instead. Im VERY pleased with the pink one and CRYSTAL clear to Miami is hard to believe lol!

My pink Grande arrived slightly hazy but I hope it'll clear with repeated runs. There's also a bits of lava sticking to the sides near the top and a bunch near the bottom around the side, hoping this too will correct itself.

I hope those things correct themselves for you too, Blob.   I wonder if the distance and time traveled made any difference?  I got mine in two days to East TN.   Rodrigo got his in Miami, but I don't know how long it took to get there.  Maybe yours had to travel much further?

I don't know if that would matter or not with these new lamps, but we always worried about shipping time and the temps outside.  I've had to cycle many lamps that clouded a little or a lot during shipping, but I've never gotten a China lamp to clear.  Loren says he has, maybe I need more patience.  All my old US globes have cleared eventually with cycling.

Well, I'm in Illinois, so mine arrived the day after I ordered it, but Fed Ex  left it laying on its side at my door ignoring the "this side up" with arrows on the box : (

OUCH, I hate it when they do that!   And we have no idea how they are positioned on the trucks either or if they were roughly handled.  I hope it all turns out well for you in any case!!    Those Grandes are really gorgeous lamps.  Yours will be too!!!!

So, as of right now, the grande seems to be the one to buy (from current lava lite). I really think it looks great, but the smaller ones seem to have that round blob flow. I think the china wax is thicker and more rubbery than the more runny/ liquidy when melted USA wax. The china wax seems to stick tightly together into round blobs, and when it starts to stretch out, it snaps too soon. I think for some reason they can't make the wax as thin as it used to be. I will probably get a grande from this series, but I still really wish they'd bring back usa manufacturing with the 90s formula. Has any one heard anything about USA production lately? Maybe the heritage series is a test to see if there is a "premium" market. If I could buy a USA made century with 90s formula, I'd probably buy one of ever color they released!

this is what i'm seeing from my heritage centuries at full power.  most of the wax stays at the top.  i tried dimming them because i thought they were overheating, but then the wax got too cold and started to spike again.  i'm going to keep adjusting the dimmers to see if i can get them dialed in.

Remember these lamps will take several runs to reach optimal flow.

FedEx tried to deliver on Friday but refused to leave the package at the door. I signed their form to have it left at the door, but on the second day they never came and then said I wasn't home. Now I have to go to a FedEx location 30 minutes away and pick it up on Tuesday. I'm pissed.

I sympathize with you on the FedEx situation.  This exact scenario has happened to me.  While my current FedEx guy knows me, has my gate code, and drops off all packages, there are no assurances that a new driver will treat me the same way.  Another reason I prefer UPS -- they ALWAYS deliver.  :>)

Before going to bed, I dimmed the Grandes a tad as I was worried to leave them on full power all night after already being on for 8 hours.  I woke up in the middle of the night after they had been on for 12-13 hours.  The pink one was flowing slowly, though wax looked very thick/chunky. The green one had a bunch of wax at the top (2-3 times what my old China Grandes would have) and the bottom was a bit volcano-looking with no flow at all.  Since I didn't know what they had been doing while I slept, I turned them off.  They're back on now, so I get to wait to see what is in store for today.

As I understand it, the problem with the China flow wasn't a formula change. Rather, the batches need to be 'cooked' for a set period of time, and the factory was cutting that time in half (or even less) in order to produce more lamps, faster. The big reason for returning production of the liquids to the USA was that the China factory would do things correctly when told, but only when they were being observed. As soon as the eyes (webcam) was off, they'd cut corners again.
