Oozing Goo - The Lava Lamp Syndicate

Hello OG, This is my first post but I have been reading the forums as a guest for a while. I finally decided to join the OG community. I have created my first Goo Kit lamp. The flow is a little too slow for me and I want the goo to split off more. I used about 70 mL of the surfactant and only distilled water. What can I do to increase the flow rate and the amount of blobs in my lamp? This is my second run of the lamp. I also have Epsom salt if it is needed. My Grande is also using the two coils that it came with as well. I have a dimmer but I am running it on max and I still don't have much activity. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I would suggest letting the globe cycle through several runs before making any changes.  This will give the wax a chance to break in.

Okay I'll let it cycle for a week and see if the flow changes. Thanks Keith.

Why did you regoo, how did you regoo and how old please
I personally think its fine, it looks really good
Cycle it for a while and see how it goes - adding a touch more surf should sort it out.

So I have been cycling my lamp on full power for a few days now and I noticed that there is a layer of wax that has stuck on the bottom of my globe. Did my wax get burnt by running the lamp at full power or I did not clean my globe enough before I did the kit? I suspect that the stuck wax may be affecting the flow somehow. Any help is appreciated.

hey, not sure how you filled the globe with water, but it helps to mix the surfactant with the water first, then pour the solution into the globe.  dr. what has a nice write up on this forum if you search for it.  i would look but i'm zzzz

welcome to OG!

I followed the Goo Kit tutorial and I coated my globe with the surfactant/water mix before I added the wax. I'm not sure if some else happened which caused the wax to stick on the globe.

welcome to OG!

what kind of coil are you using - the gookit mesh one or the one from the grande.

I am using the two coils that came with my grande. One large coil and one small coil.
