"You definitely want to use kosher salt, or rock salt...non iodized salt, or the water will be a different kind of cloudy. Did just running your lamp for a couple of months not clear it? If you have already tried that, then I would say keep adding a little bit of salt water at a time, until you get the specific gravity normalized. If you add undissolved salt to the water, then you can damage the wax, or if you add too much salt water. Just add a little at a time, and you should be okay."
