Oozing Goo - The Lava Lamp Syndicate

Hello,
I bought this lava lamp at my local Habitat for Humanity ReStore. I saw it and just couldn't resist. Anyway, I got home and found there are no brand markings on it. I also believe I am missing brass cap matching the base that goes on top to cover the black cap. Does anyone know who made this lamp and when it was made?

Looks like a circa 1970 Aristocrat base and bottle. The black cap....is it screw on?....It is not original but could be painted a soft gold color.
Thanks,
The black cap is screw-on, I'm starting to think the base and globe may be mismatched. Also I found a date sticker on the cap (sort of where the threads are) that says it was made in September of 1973.
Sounds right....early 70s Aristocrat. I would guess the bottle may be origjnal to the base and the cap was simply replaced at some point. The bottle's fill looks typical for early 70s.
Thanks, I really like it. I turned it on for the first time last night and left it on almost all night. Its a bit cloudy but the flow was beautiful. When I woke up at 6:00 however the flow had stopped and the wax was sitting on the bottom. I'm guessing this is because it hadn't been run for a long period of time and needs to be revived or "broken in". I hope that it will return to the beautiful flow that it did last night. Also there is some white stuff around the coil that seems to be staying there, but I'm not too concerned.
