Oozing Goo - The Lava Lamp Syndicate

Does anyone have (or could take) some pictures of the newer lamps? Specifically the amethyst and blue/white rock, and psychedelic etc. I haven't bought a colormax in awhile.

Thanks

here are a few

Thank you! I see them in spencers of course but they don't always have most of them flowing. Are you happy with the quality?

Yes these were excellent lamps'

The purple glitter was a bit dark but that's to be expected.

The alien has the most remarkable glow and ambiance about it

it really does pOp

The photo does not do it justice

I'm going to vote NO on their recent lamps, quality-wise. Here's my write-up: http://oozinggoo.ning.com/forum/topics/on-going-list-of-quality-iss...

Your mileage may vary.

these particular lamps ran for weeks without issue, before we packed them to move

The only nice new lamp I have owned is the alien lamp. It flowed nice and really looked great with the lights off, however, I converted the bottle to glitter and give it to a friend. It had the best paint job on the bottle I have seen compared to other painted globes. Even and crystal clear.

I am with Erin on this, not happy at all with new lamps.  Granted, I do get excited to see the new lamp designs, but once I see the flow and read from our group of the lack luster flow reconfirms my feelings about the substandard craftsmanship.  Sorry to be the proverbial stick in the mud!

I will say this - they look nice. At least initially. Some really cool colors, bases and globes. But the quality just isn't there. I'm guessing a lot of people can live with the issues that drive me up a wall. Just depends how picky you are. I'm one of the pickiest on here, I think. As soon as the wax sticks to the glass or there's gunk in the coil, I'm no longer interested in the lamp.

I haven't had any of those problems except with old lamps that need attention and have been sitting for years

You think these new lamps will last 30 to 50+ years like the old ones?

How many lamps from 2003 and on do you have? I've been surprised that it takes very few runs before problems develop.

Not a chance. You ever seen the display at Spencer's? They are COOKED. Or, people selling the post-2003 ones on eBay? They do not stand the test of time.
