That's an interesting question!
No idea on numbers, but as you suggest they're relatively common, so a lot must have been sold.
Just very large and expensive relative to the rest of the range, which will have disuaded a lot of people at the time.
Wish I'd bought a few though!
I wonder if the current replacement bottles flow as well as the old ones do. It might be worth building a homemade base to run one on, rather than spend a fortune on the real thing.

You're not the only one to have thought of making your own base!
One thing to watch, anyway... the new fills run on 100w, the old ones were tuned to 75w
Wonder if it'll fit on a grande base?

a Lunar bottle is about 135mm across its base
