Oozing Goo - The Lava Lamp Syndicate

Yep, there's a silver Starship Grande, minus cap, in my local Goodwill, which is Renton, WA. They want $70 for it. Globe is cloudy yellow/blue. Are these indeed hyper-rare? Does anybody want it? I could pick it up for someone. Photos linked below.

If I did get it, I'd have to go Sunday, hopefully it'd still be there.

There's this great website called eBay, where you can even set an auction to donate proceeds to charities of your choice! Who know how many bidders you could have???

In all honesty, that's a super generous thing to donate for COVID relief, and I do think eBay will be your safest, non controversial method. It's free and easy to sign up.

I put a bid at $130

If I were to win I would rather send you the funds to your PayPal and just have you donate it. It would be easier that way so we don't get anything wrong.

Yeah, I had not factored in thinking about a potential political rift that a Covid charity could flare up.

So, proceeds would go to the World Wildlife Fund.  (https://gifts.worldwildlife.org/gift-center/one-time-donation.aspx)  Winner could enter the funds themselves via the link above, or I can do it for the winner, after a paypal/venmo/digital transfer of funds.  Price would include shipping (assuming no bottle)

(All of this is assuming mods are OK with a bid/auction on the site)

Did bidding start on this???  I haven't seen a link for the listing.

Not yet.  I need to get some pictures of it up, and get a listing put together.  Apologies for the delay.  Life is getting in the way.

No Worries! It's understandable.  Thanks for the update!!

Don't know how this is going to work correctly. I don't think that it's going to work like eBay bidding on a time frame. Not unless you got a virtual way of placing bidding. I've never seen one before other than eBay.

Someone gonna post a picture of this rare lamp?

Here are some pics from when I first got it a few years back.  It's in the same condition as when I got it.  (except the bottle was shot, so I kitted it)   Will take//post more current pics soonish.

Interesting how this stuff pops up. I wonder what it's story is. If the winner/current owner wants cap measurements let me know. I still have my grande starship and can get you whatever measurements you need.

And for the people that have messaged me no it's not for sale and never will be.

I think we're all ready for this to go into your auction. There's always an option to put it on eBay. Things might run a whole lot smoother. Should be interesting how this auction will run.

I think we all know it's not for sale from you. Lol. It's all good.

You tell em autumn. And someone, maybe me otherwise to make a spread sheet of the dimensions of these oddball parts. For example the humongo had two different caps? A lab grade GL45 cap and the normal large aluminum pinch and plug. Only took  an hour of Google Fu to find that out...
