Question for all is it diffacult to empty and refill an lava lamp bottle and has anyone emptied a glitter bottle to replace it with a lava colour it just ideas if i can get my hands on an copper Nordic glitter lamp and another copper lava lamp thanks in advance

If you wanna empty a lava bottle i remove the bottle top pour most of the fluid away and leave some fluid above the soild lava at the bottom of the bottle. i then put the bottle on the base and switch it on leave for about 20mins till all the wax is melt then i pour it out into a container.

Then was the bottle out in hot soapy water, rinse so no soap suds are left, Let it dry completely then its ready to refill.

Most crestworth bottle tops will unscrew, mathmos ones tend to be glued on so more tricky to undo without damaging the thread on the metal screw cap.

Refilling with lava i pour the cold master fluid in the empty bottle, leave a small amount + wax in the bottle, heat it up till the wax has fully melted then i tilt both bottles so the necks ( openings ) touch and let the melt wax slowely pour in the bottle your filling.

Note people refill differently this works for me the main thing is you cant pour a hot master fluid ( coloured liquid) as it will cloud.

So your other question with the glitter bottle, empty it and clean probably before refilling with lava.

Another issue you may have, mathmos formula works faster so using a nordic with a 40watt the bottle and contents will go faster so you may need to get a 25watt or halogen 30watt
