Oozing Goo - The Lava Lamp Syndicate

Has anyone ever shot a temp gun at a correctly functioning/flowing
vessel?  Would be curious to hear the number. Because 2 out of 3 I have
I can not keep my hand on more than a couple of seconds. The third one
is pretty big and instead of a 75 watt R20, I am using a 50 watt bulb. Which
I will correct as soon as the right bulbs come in.  Thanks for info in advance.

Im sure they all vary somewhat but I have grabbed a few temps before, between 180-200 degree range in the liquid. That is with a 40 watt bulb giving off 325 degrees.

I think I remember someone else checking the water temp and finding about 160 so it will depend on the globe, wax, color etc.
