I don't understand how does it look and work, are there some videos/photos online?

Do you mean the metallic Astro/ Astrobaby lamps that appeared around the late 90s/ early 00s?
As far as I know they worked more or less the same as any other lamp, albeit presumably with a tweaked formula, there was a very fine glitter powder set in a translucent-ish wax that created a molten metallic look when running. Was a nice idea, though they weren't to everyone's taste, they had a noticeably slower flow than standard lamps. Apparently they suffered issues with the liquid clouding so they were discontinued after only a short production run.
Found a video here
(The current metallics on the other hand are just basically a standard lamp with a semi-transparent mirrored coating on the glass, so the contents are only visible when the lamp is lit)
Yeah I am also interested to see what they are like. Surprising there appear to be no videos anywhere, and I’ve never seen any on eBay.
Doesn anyone have pictures of it? Really strange that an innovative lamp doesn't get much attention here...
You can find pictures of it by typing "astro metallic" in the search bar on the top left of the website.
There are allso multiple videos on youtube.
Thanks, just stumbled across those too...

Oh, thank you! Nice lamp! I wonder why these aren't so poular... Probably one of the reasons is that you can't buy the bottle separately

Found this review a while back. its worth a look if your planning on getting one as it does have some issues:

I've read it but it says that the newer ones are more visible... Like the ones in the video i suppose. I'll have to decide between one of these and a telstar

Yes it seems that the newer ones are clearer but the coating is still very fragile and scratches easily at least at the time they posted that review.

Is it the orange colour? Also, how does it look while turned off?
