Oozing Goo - The Lava Lamp Syndicate

Old coils are driving me nuts and would like to use some stainless steel mesh but can't find any pics or details on how to install.

Do I cut it round? Roll it round?

One member reported great success with lint trap mesh...

Thanks much!

Use a STAINLESS steel mesh that is light gauge and easy to bend and shape. I generally cut it kind of round but square would work too. You many have to roll it to get it in the bottle then with some dowels or chopsticks, any thin probe, you can reach in and flatten is back out to cover the bottle's bottom.

Mesh is not the perfect coil or the worst coil in my experience but it can dedinitely help capture and control detritus in the wax.

i remember when mathmos tried a wire mesh sheet cut in a circle that layed flat on the bottle bottom instead of the coils, bloody nightmare it used to curl up after a while, then the wax would dome on it and not blob up, thankfully it was only used for a short time
