Oozing Goo - The Lava Lamp Syndicate

i have 2 different one's it seems. one is very pale in the colour and more metallic looking, the other is much darker and not quite as metallic. doe anyone have an ideas on why this is?

i should also mention that the dark purple one is all nice and smooth and the lighter purple is more crater like
could be exposure to sunlight
Some are faulty. I had a red and a purple one like that, they donst have such a nice texture as the regular ones and I dont know how to fix it, so I poured them in a lunar and when mixed with the others it doesnt show anymore.
