Mathmos Bottle Volumes? Astro verses Jet?

Hi folks,

 

Does anyone know the approximate volumes of Mathmos bottles please? -

(I need to fill a Jet bottle with the contents from an Astro).

 

The Astro looks definitely bigger than a Jet.

 

Anyone have some facts at their fingertips please? Simon ;o)

That's if you fill just up to the neck of the bottles, you could get 2 jets from an Astro!

Just checking ...

that you reckon there's enough of both wax and liquid

to make two Jets from one Astro! (and still have some liquid over)

so in theory i can put my 2 blue glitterballs and it would fill an astro ,

I'd say its too much wax. an astro is enough wax to fill a jet and have a little left, the liquid is enough for two though. maybe use 1,5 glitterballs

Arne - sounds like you've done this yourself!!

Everyone agrees that the liquid content is enough, but what about the wax?

Would it be noticeable, or effect the flow if the wax from one Astro is used to fill two Jets?

Yes, I have done this and it just wouldnt be enough. it will probly not snake like it should and overheat very quickly. I wouldnt do it. Maybe use two astros for 3 jets, but anything else would be wasted contents IMHO

in terms of the volume of wax in a jet or astrobaby,  the amount in weight is 125 grams.

I haven't yet used the contents of an Asto to transplant in to a jet or astrobaby, but as long as the weight of the wax only in an Astro is double this, (250 grams) then there's enough wax for two jets !

Hi just to check would the new lip astro bottle fill a jet or would I be best to fill with a astro bottle as I think there more wax in a jet bottle.

The Lip Astro do have less fluid compared to the early Astro bottles, but have more than enough wax for a jet aka you'll have some left over, ive always refilled from a Astro bottle into Jets, I tend to put the fluid in the Jet bottle first up to the level it would be without any wax in it, Then add the wax into the fluid till it reaches the correct level for the Jet bottle .
