I recently ordered a Mathmos and realised I need a step up transformer for it to work correctly. I see a lot of posts recommended the 300w adapter from LiteFuzebbut I can only find a 500w. Would this work on my mathmos ASTRO? If not could someone recommend something better?

Hi from across the Pond, here's what I think, but there are zillions of more qualified electrics people than me...
The 500w limit is actually a benefit as all you need for an Astro is about 40w (x 2 = c100w to be on the safe side - always go twice as much as you need)
It's a good heavy one too - the weight is the coil - that does the converting
btw, I always check my step-downs the first time I use them, do they get too hot? Warm is ok, hot makes me worried....
Concur, with Andy on this as I run my Mathmos and Crestworth's un converted. Actually, this is one of a few different set ups I have to run various lamps, although not the same Brand. https://www.amazon.com/Simran-AC-500-Voltage-Converter-Transformer/...
and another one I use.. https://www.ebay.com/itm/2000W-Voltage-Transformer-Step-Up-Down-110...
I have used both of the above for years with no problems.
This link is to the best of the best USA made converters, abit they are very expensive https://acupwr.com/collections/step-up-step-down-dual-use-110-volts...
