I am thrilled to share this exciting news with all of you! Today is the official opening of the brand-new Lava Library Merch Store.
https://shop.lava-library.com/
Many of you have been asking me for a poster version of my color chart. Your requests have not gone unnoticed, and I have poured my heart and soul into this poster for the past several months to create something I think people would enjoy displaying with their collection. And not to worry there will always be a free digital copy on the Lava Library site.
I also wanted to create more ways for people to support the Lava Library and have expanded merchandise offerings beyond just posters including stickers, mugs, notebooks, the usual merch store offerings. Most of them serious... some not so much that were inspired by memes from our Discord server.

Yes that turned out nicely...pretty much as decorative as a lava lamp color chart can be...which is not meant as an insult:)
Btw do you know anything about the briefly sold temperature controllig silver century? the box sais it changes the temperature automatically and a picture only shows some sort of diode. I'd love to know if there was more to it or if the diode already was supposed to achieve this functionality.
I have one actually. I have yet to solve the mystery of what it is supposed to do. So far it doesn't seem to be any different than a regular century.

Amazed by this, the design is beautiful, something I myself have wanted to tackle. I love how the blobs / flow varies, can't wait to order soon!
Can you see if theres any circuitry inside?

There is. I have not been able to determine what it does though. I used a Kill-A-Watt to see if it reduced the watt usage any, but it didn't.

so it really is just this diode as it seems. there is a 4 digit number next to the 6F mark, can you see what this number is? I guess the diode just blocks the current once it has reached a certain temperature, if I know this number I can look for a datasheet of the diode and probly find out more..
Thanks for your help so far :)
found this explaination on the internet:
The principle of using a diode as a temperature sensor is straightforward. With a constant current applied, the voltage across a diode or PN junction will decrease by approximately 1 to 2 mV/°C over temperature.
...I wonder if it works as advertised though.
