Your not being a smart ass Arne ;)  and your right his estimate is a tad too much.  I really dont know, at what point, the lava will start sticking to the globe. I was told it could if too much was added so for a astrobaby I would use maybe 4-5 markers. A Astro 7-8 markers.  If it doesn't seem to have a metallic effect add one marker at a time.

hmm...sounds a bit much...is a grande really only 5 times bigger than astrobaby? I mean, a lunar takes  about 6 astrobabys. a lunar holds 160oz a grande 250....I'd say an astrobaby needs 5,54 sharpies...dont wanne be a smartass and I may be wrong, but 10 just sounds too much.

The 52 oz. I have took only 7-8 markers and that one looks great. With the grande I wanted to bump it up some,  One gookit can do about six 52 oz globes so I just mulitplied 8x6 and added a extra pack of 4. They were normal sized sharpie. i got them in bulk on ebay.

It took 52 markers total! lol It looks MUCH better then the first round.

I am planning to make a goo kit mettalic astrobaby - i have done the sums for the amount of Sharpies required and the ratio is that for every 18ml of wax 1 Sharpie is required (i asume you were using normal size).

Therefor for a Astrobaby (or simmler size globe) 10 sharpies will be required.
