Wax is original, fluid has been changed. This is one stubborn lamp. Too much salt and it detaches from the coil. Adding dish soap makes the wax bubbly.

No, I have no way of checking. Good idea though!
Erin.. have you checked to see if this is UV reactive? looks like it could
Erin, could you email me the process you used, or PM me? I have the same type of lamp, and it needs a refill badly. I'd like to know how to 'cleaned' the wax when you emptied it, and what liquids in approximately what proportions made it flow.
Might be interesting to see if the new mix, like the old stuff, will run for a day or more straight without overheating. The 60s formula with the lowest wax level could run for a day(s), and when it overheated you could turn it off for an hour, switch it back on and it'd keep going.
Yes, it's the lower level of wax Jonas. You can see other pics of it here:

Is this 60s "run for days" wax, i.e. much less wax than in the regular 52oz. globe?
Thank you! Much appreciated. :) I have another lamp I'd like to try and fix after this one.
Looking good Erin, I got a nice container for the SLS and will be sending it out shortly. Very nice colors on that lamp!
Thanks Jonas. I'm still working on it. You can actually see the original liquid in a jar behind it. It's so gross. The wax has been pretty resilient. This is probably my 6th attempt with this lamp.
